A long-running divorce dispute between a Russian oligarch and his ex-wife has resulted in what is thought to be one of the largest ever divorce settlements, reports the Guardian.
Dmitry Rybolovlev is reportedly worth around $8.8 billion and is currently ranked as the world's 147th richest man. He and his former wife Elena were married 23 years ago, but have spent the last six years locked in battle over a divorce settlement.
A Swiss court has now awarded Elena a financial settlement of £2.6 billion, which is approximately half of her former husband’s fortune. She has also been given custody of the couple’s younger daughter.
According to the Guardian, Dmitry Rybolovlev intends to appeal against the ruling.
